Members and Friends Visit Kabar Aye Buddhist Monastery
_DATE_FORMAT_LC
Julian, Alec, David and Adam attended the Kabar Aye Buddhist Monastery at 21 Rich Street, Noble Park, on Sunday the 9th of July for a Visa and Robe Offering Ceremony.

Visa is the Burmese equivalent word for what we know as the Versak celebration. Versak is celebrated by Burma later in the year due to differences in the Burmese calendar.

The day started with a traditional Burmese breakfast accompanied by warm conversation with the community.

Shortly after breakfast the offering ceremony commenced in which the community, including our representatives, offered robes and other neccesities to the Sangha. This was followed by the taking of Precepts and Refuge, a Dhamma talk by Venerable Bodhiwonisa on the importance of cultivating dana (generosity), sila (morality), and bhavana (mental cultivation) and the blessing of all present.
