CONGRATULATORY MESSAGE TO THE HONOURABLE JOHN HOWARD MP

ON THE ELECTORAL SUCCESS OF HIS COALITION PARTY FOR A THIRD TERM IN OFFICE

On behalf of the World Fellowship of Buddhists and followers of Buddha Dhamma in Australia, we acclaim your historic victory at the recent Federal election held on 10 November 2001.

We have enjoyed productive cooperation and courteous relations with your Ministers and their staff over the years. When issues of mutual interest arise, we look forward to further opportunities to wait on your Ministers.

Since Australia is conducting operations of war against terrorism, we have introduced censorship into the subject matter of our radio broadcasts and information placed on our eight websites.

We wish you and your Ministers every success as the Government of Australia.

Yours respectfully

John D. Hughes Dip. App. Chem. T.T.T.C. GDAIE

Vice President, World Fellowship of Buddhists

CD Readers for every BDC(U) Ltd. PC

Our goal is to equip every PC with a CD Reader by the end of this year 2001.

Back up of internal emails

Pennie White has agreed to back up all internal emails including archived messages to preserve this important data.

Saving files in Rich Text Format

At present, ISYS search engine is unable to search Lotus Word Pro files. This is why all computer files must be saved in rich text format (rtf).

Evelin Halls will contact ISYS at a later date to find out if there is a possibility ISYS could search Lotus Word Pro files. Even so, all Members must continue to save computer files in rich text format (rtf) so future generations may have access to our files of Buddha Dhamma material.

New CGR Database

Our new ACCESS Database was backed up on 16 November 2001 by Evelin Halls.

The database is stored at three locations:

1. on the D: drive on PC1A at D:/Database

(this is where the data is automatically saved when working on the database)

2. on the I: drive on the LAN at I:/cgr/a_backup

(this serves as a backup and has to be done manually via the Windows Explorer)

3. on the red Zip disk stored in the IT store

(to do this backup use the Zip drive connected to PC5A)

Please see Evelin if you have any questions or if you would like to be trained how to perform the backup.

Training Members to use the Access Database on PC1A

It is suggested that all Members be trained in how to use the new Access Database located on PC1A. This Access Database is not simply for CGR task unit. The Database has the Buddha Dhyana Dana Review mailing list overseas and local, CGR correspondence entry and an OH&S section.

Training in how to use the database can be provided by Lainie Smallwood by appointment. Priority will be given to CGR task unit Members.
